Accounting training data for AI. Every entry has to balance.

Journal entries, framework questions, reconciliations, and tax cases written and graded by CPAs, chartered accountants, auditors, and tax professionals, then checked a second time before they reach your model. For AI teams that need accounting data nobody has published, and for accountants who want paid, remote work in their own field.

What is accounting training data for AI?

Accounting training data for AI is a body of worked problems, labeled records, and graded answers that a model can learn from or be measured against: a transaction paired with its correct entry, accounts, and period; a lease question answered under a named framework with the paragraph cited; a bank reconciliation where the discrepancy is found and explained; a tax computation pinned to one jurisdiction and one year. The value sits in the judgment behind each item, and that judgment has to come from someone qualified to exercise it.

Language models are fluent about accounting and frequently wrong at it. They recognize revenue before the obligation is met, give a US GAAP answer to an IFRS reporter, put a lease on the wrong side of the line, and close a reconciliation by inventing the plug. The textbook problem sets are already inside every training corpus, and real ledgers cannot be scraped without dragging personal and commercial data along with them.

eeko's data practice exists because the finance systems we build need exactly this material and nobody publishes it. We commission verified accountants to write it to your specification, have a second accountant review it independently, and deliver it with a verifiable record on every item: the discipline behind our AI systems for financial services and the verification stack across the whole eeko data practice.

Ledger review image · 2100 × 900
Each item carries its framework, its author, its reviewer, and a fingerprint, so a grade can be traced back to the accountant who gave it.

Three ways accounting models go wrong, and what the data fixes.

Generic annotation teams mark an answer as plausible. Accountants mark it as right or wrong, line by line, under the framework that applies.

Framework drift

US GAAP and IFRS disagree on leases, inventory costing, impairment reversal, and development costs. A model trained on untagged material blends the two. Every eeko item names its framework, and paired items make the divergence explicit.

Entries that do not balance

A confident paragraph with an unbalanced entry underneath it is still wrong. Our graders check debits against credits, the period against the event, and the account against the chart.

Records you are not allowed to use

Real trial balances carry names, bank details, and commercially sensitive figures. Sourced records arrive only with the owner's recorded consent, are masked for personal data, and carry that consent in the item record.

Accounting datasets and expert annotation, built to your rubric.

Six kinds of work we commission most often, each scoped by framework, difficulty, and volume, and each started with a pilot batch.

01 / entriesCORE
Journal entry problem sets
Transactions from routine accruals through consolidations, lease modifications, and multi-element revenue contracts, each with the correct accounts, amounts, period, and reasoning.
  • Tagged US GAAP, IFRS, or both
  • Difficulty graded from staff to technical
  • Balanced and independently reviewed
02 / standardsCORE
Framework reasoning questions
Treatment questions answered the way a technical accounting specialist would, with the reasoning laid out and the governing standard referenced.
  • ASC and IFRS paragraph references
  • Matched pairs where treatments diverge
  • Topic tags for targeted fine-tuning
03 / reconciliationsCORE
Reconciliation tasks
Bank, intercompany, and subledger reconciliations with discrepancies seeded on purpose and the resolution written by someone who has closed a month.
  • Timing, error, and fraud-pattern differences
  • Resolution steps and adjusting entries
  • Table and document formats
04 / taxCORE
Tax computations and scenarios
Worked computations and scenario questions written by tax professionals, each scoped to a jurisdiction and a tax year so the answer can be checked against the rules that applied.
  • Corporate, individual, and indirect tax
  • Jurisdiction and year on every item
  • Refreshed on a standing order as rules change
05 / auditCORE
Audit judgment scenarios
Sampling decisions, risk assessments, and misstatement evaluations with the conclusion and the evidence an external auditor would put in the file.
  • Materiality and risk reasoning
  • Evidence sufficiency judgments
  • Written by practicing auditors
06 / gradingEVAL
Line-by-line model grading
Accountants go through a model's answer one line at a time, scoring account, amount, period, and framework, and flagging the first error. Feeds evaluation benchmarks or preference training.
  • First-error location on every graded answer
  • Pairwise comparisons with rationale
  • Held-out sets kept out of circulation

From your spec to a signed delivery, in four steps.

The same process whether the order is forty items or forty thousand. The pilot is where the rubric gets argued over, so the volume run does not have to be.

STEP 01
Spec and pilot
You describe the model, the framework mix, and the failure you are chasing. We return a written spec, a rubric, and a fixed pilot price inside one business day.
STEP 02
Written by a verified accountant
Each item is authored by an accountant whose identity and credential we have checked, in their verified framework. Nothing scraped, nothing generated and passed off.
STEP 03
Independent second review
A second accountant reworks the item blind and either accepts it or returns it with a reason. Both names go into the item record.
STEP 04
Fingerprinted and delivered
Every accepted item is hashed, timestamped, screened for duplicates and personal data, and listed on a signed receipt with the licence terms.

The accountants behind the dataset, and what they produce.

What an accounting job on eeko looks like

Every job shows its scope, deadline, and rate before you take it. When the second accountant signs off, the amount is added to your balance and the payout runs automatically through Stripe as soon as we hold your identity and tax information.

  • Write Transactions with the correct entries, periods, and reasoning
  • Explain Treatment under a stated framework, citing the standard
  • Grade A model's answer line by line for account, amount, period, and framework
  • Review Another accountant's items as the independent second check

This is data work, not practice: no return prepared, no opinion signed, no client advised, no engagement formed. Your name is not published with the data, and there is no minimum number of hours. See how the wider program works on expert data annotation jobs, or go straight to the application.

Accounting training data questions.

How much does accounting training data for AI cost?

Pricing is per accepted item and depends on the type of item, the difficulty, and the depth of review you want. A simple accrual entry costs a fraction of a consolidation case with a full audit trail. After a short brief we send a fixed-price quote for a pilot batch, usually a few dozen items, so you can check the standard before committing to volume. There is no platform fee and no minimum order beyond the pilot. A real person replies inside one business day.

Can one request cover US GAAP and IFRS at the same time?

Yes. Every item carries a framework tag, and a request can target US GAAP, IFRS, or both, including matched pairs that show where the two treatments part ways on leases, inventory, impairment, or revenue. Items are routed only to accountants whose credentials we have verified in that framework, and tax items are pinned to a single jurisdiction and tax year so the answer cannot drift. The pilot batch is where we settle the framework mix with you.

Is writing accounting data for AI the same as providing accounting services?

No. Experts on the eeko network write and grade material that trains or evaluates software. They do not prepare returns, sign off on statements, or advise a client, and no engagement letter or professional relationship is created. Scenarios are hypothetical or drawn from records whose owner has consented to the use. Your output is used as training or evaluation data and nothing else, which keeps the work clear of the rules that govern practice.

Do I need to be a CPA to get accounting AI training work?

Not for everything. Jobs that involve framework reasoning, audit judgment, or tax computations generally require a CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or a comparable qualification, which we verify alongside your identity before any work is offered. Bookkeeping-level entries and reconciliations are often open to experienced accountants without a license. Every job states its requirements up front, and you only see work that fits your verified profile.

How is accounting data checked before it is delivered?

Each item is written by one verified accountant and then independently reviewed by a second, who confirms accounts, amounts, periods, and framework before it is accepted. The record for every item notes who wrote it, who reviewed it, and whether any label was suggested by a model and confirmed by a person. Items are fingerprinted, timestamped, and screened for duplicates and personal data, and the delivery comes with a signed receipt listing each one.

Can we license an accounting dataset exclusively?

Yes. A dataset commissioned for you can be licensed on an exclusive basis, with the scope, the term, and the exclusivity written into the agreement before work begins. Deliveries arrive as JSON Lines, CSV, or Parquet with Croissant metadata, and a standing order can keep fresh items coming as standards and tax rules change. Most teams begin with a pilot to agree on difficulty and grading rubric, then scale from there.

Accounting data your model can be audited on.

Send us the framework, the volume, and the failure you keep seeing. A data lead replies inside one business day with a written spec and a fixed pilot price. Accountants: the application takes ten minutes.
