homeowner program · minneapolis · chicago · miami

Free home service. Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, paid for by eeko.

A licensed local company does the repair. eeko pays the bill. In return, the technician wears a small camera, and the recording of the job teaches robots how a trained person diagnoses a fault, picks a tool, and knows when the work is done. Your cost is zero. Tell us about the job and a real person checks the fit within one business day.

What is the free home service program?

Free home service is eeko's way of collecting something robotics labs cannot buy anywhere else: honest footage of skilled repair work in ordinary homes. A furnace in a Minneapolis basement, a tripping breaker in a Chicago two-flat, a condenser on a Miami roof. Every job like that is a lesson in how a professional looks, tests, decides, and finishes, and almost none of it has ever been recorded.

So we pay for it. A plumbing, electrical, HVAC, duct-cleaning, or carpet-cleaning company that has joined eeko's capture programs sends a technician to your home. They work the way they would on any other call. The difference is a chest-mounted camera and an invoice that goes to eeko. You get the repair. The company gets paid. The de-identified footage becomes robotics training data, licensed to approved teams with consent and provenance recorded on every clip.

It is the same data practice behind the enterprise AI agents and automation systems eeko builds for regulated companies: the models need data nobody has published, so we go and make it, with everyone involved agreed in writing.

What the camera sees: hands, tools, and the equipment. What it does not keep: faces, mail, screens, or your address.

Free plumbing, electrical, HVAC, duct, and carpet service, job by job.

Everyday skilled work, the kind you would call a professional for anyway. If it involves diagnosing something, choosing a fix, and doing it with hands and tools, it is probably a fit.

What makes a job a fit.

yes
Jobs we pay for

Real repairs and real service, where a technician has to figure something out and fix it. That is what robots need to learn, so that is what the program funds.

  • Real work a fault to find and a fix to do, not a quote or an inspection alone
  • Normal size a service call or a single day's work
  • Live city Minneapolis, Chicago, or Miami and their surroundings
  • Recording agreed you are comfortable with a camera on the technician
not yet
Jobs outside the program for now

Some work is too big, too urgent, or too far from a partner to fund today. Ask anyway; the list shrinks as the program grows.

  • Remodels kitchens, bathrooms, additions, new construction
  • Roofing and structural not yet covered by a participating trade
  • Emergencies burst pipes at midnight need a direct call to a pro
  • Other cities kept on file and answered when a partner joins

From request to finished repair.

Nothing is scheduled, and nothing is recorded, until you have heard back from a person and said yes.

STEP 01
Describe the job
City, trade, type of home, and a few sentences on what is wrong or what you want done. Two minutes in the form below, no commitment.
STEP 02
A person checks the fit
Within one business day you hear a yes, a not yet, or a question. If it is a no, we say why and point you somewhere useful.
STEP 03
A local company calls
A licensed company in your city that has joined the program gets in touch to agree a time that suits you and confirm the scope.
STEP 04
The work gets done
The technician completes the repair as they normally would, wearing the camera. You sign off, the company bills eeko, and the de-identified footage becomes training data.

What the camera keeps, and what it never does.

The data is about skilled work, not about you. Four rules keep it that way.

De-identification image · 1200 × 900
A frame after review: the water heater is sharp, the family photo and the letter on the shelf are gone.

Four rules for footage from your home

  • The work is the subject. The camera sits on the technician's chest and points at their hands, their tools, and the equipment. It is not a security camera and it does not roam.
  • Personal details come out. Faces, names, mail, photos, screens, documents, and anything else that identifies a person are blurred or cut by a reviewer before the clip is delivered to anyone.
  • Your address stays with us. What buyers receive describes the repair, the hardware, and the conditions, never the person or the property.
  • You can pause or ask. Want the camera off for a room, or a plain answer about who sees what? Say so in the form or to the technician. We answer before a visit is booked, and every clip carries a consent record and a signed provenance record.

Free home service: what homeowners ask.

Is the free home service actually free?

Yes, when the job qualifies. eeko pays the service company directly for the visit and the labor, because the recording of the work is licensed to AI and robotics teams as training data. There is no invoice to you, no deposit, and no rebate to chase. The one exception is an unusually expensive part or a job that grows beyond what was agreed; in that case you hear about it, with a number, before anyone picks up a tool.

What kinds of jobs qualify for free home service?

Any of the five trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, duct cleaning, or carpet cleaning, sized like a normal service call or one day of work, in a city that is live. A dripping valve, a dead circuit, a furnace that short-cycles, a whole-home duct clean: all good fits. Large remodels, new construction, roofing, and after-hours emergencies are outside the program for now. If your job is borderline, describe it anyway and let a person decide.

Which cities offer the free home service program?

Requests are open in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Miami, including nearby suburbs where a participating company will travel. Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco are next, with partnerships being arranged now. Pick your city in the form; if it is not live yet we keep your request and write to you the moment a company in your area joins.

Who actually does the work in my home?

A licensed and insured service company that already operates in your city and has joined eeko's capture program. Their technician does the job the way they would for any paying customer, with the same parts, the same warranty on workmanship, and the same standards. The only difference is a small camera on their chest and a bill that goes to eeko instead of to you.

What is recorded during the visit, and who sees the footage?

The technician wears a chest-mounted camera pointed at their hands, their tools, and the equipment being worked on. Faces, mail, screens, photos, and anything else that identifies you are blurred or cut before the footage leaves eeko, and your address is never attached to it. The de-identified recording is licensed to approved AI and robotics organizations, under written terms, to teach their systems how skilled repair work is done. It is never posted publicly.

Do I need to be home, and will I be on camera?

You need to be home the way you would for any service visit, to let the technician in and sign off at the end. You do not need to appear on camera and most homeowners stay in another room while the work is done. If you walk into frame, you are blurred before the footage goes anywhere. If you prefer the camera off for part of the visit, say so and the technician pauses it.

What happens if my job does not qualify?

You get a straight answer within one business day, and where we can we introduce you to a participating company anyway at their normal rates. Requests that miss on city or trade are kept on file, because the program is adding both, and we write to you when a fit opens up. Asking costs nothing and nothing is scheduled until you have heard back and said yes.

Got a job on the list? Ask. It costs nothing.

Describe the repair, pick your city, and a person on the eeko data team tells you within one business day whether the visit is on us. No deck. A yes, a not yet, or a question.
