AI training jobs for skilled trades. $20 per accepted hour, on calls you were already booked for.

Plumber, electrician, HVAC tech, carpenter, painter, roofer: clip a small camera to your chest, run the job the way you always do, and upload the footage at the end of the day. eeko pays $20 for every hour that passes review, and that hour teaches a robot how your trade is really done. Nothing staged, nothing extra to learn, nothing to buy.

What is an AI training job for the skilled trades?

An AI training job for skilled trades pays a working tradesperson to record their normal jobs from their own point of view. The footage becomes training data for robots and AI systems that are trying to learn physical work: how a plumber feels for a leak behind a wall, how an electrician lands a wire in a tight panel, how an HVAC tech reads a gauge and knows the charge is right. None of that is written down anywhere, and no amount of staged lab video reproduces it.

eeko builds production AI systems for enterprises, and the models behind the next wave of robotics need exactly this kind of data: consented, human-made, from people who are good at the work. Our data capture practice exists to collect it properly, with a signed consent record and a verifiable provenance record on every clip. The trades program is one of several on our get paid to train AI hub, and it is the one where the hourly rate is set by how scarce real trade footage is.

There is no test, no interview, and no new skill to pick up. You apply below, a person on our team reads it, and if the fit is right you are recording within the week.

Paid AI training work for every hands-on trade.

Each service call is a lesson in looking, testing, choosing a tool, and knowing when to stop. These are the trades buyers are asking for today. If yours is not here and it is done with your hands, apply anyway.

Four steps from application to your first payout.

No recording happens until you have been onboarded and your customer or employer has signed. After that, the camera rides along on normal jobs.

STEP 01
Apply
Two minutes on the form below: your trade, where you work, how many hours a week you would record, and a few lines about a typical day. No résumé.
STEP 02
Onboarding call
A short call to check your camera and mount, cover what to record and what to skip, and hand you the consent form your customers sign.
STEP 03
Record the job
Clip in, work the call as you always would, pause for conversations and breaks, and upload from your phone when the job is wrapped.
STEP 04
Review and pay
A reviewer looks at each upload inside a few days. Every accepted hour is credited at $20 and paid out through Stripe, itemized so you can see what passed.

$20 an hour of accepted footage. Your job pay does not change.

what stays the same
Your trade, your rate, your customers

You are not working for eeko. You run your calls, bill your customers or clock in for your employer, and get paid for the job as you do now. The program asks nothing new of you except to wear the camera and sign a consent form with the customer.

  • No schedule Record when it suits you, skip when it does not
  • No quota There is no minimum and no penalty for a quiet week
  • No exclusivity A short participation agreement, cancel any time
what eeko adds
A per-hour licence fee for your footage

Every hour a reviewer accepts is credited at $20. Expect 70 to 85 percent of what you upload to pass once you have the mount dialed in. Ten recorded hours with eight accepted is $160; a full recording week at the same ratio is closer to $480.

  • Paid through Stripe Automatic payouts, every upload itemized
  • First hour guaranteed Paid in full even if it fails review
  • Rate in writing Confirmed before you record; never cut on accepted hours

Four checks decide whether an hour is accepted.

Every upload comes back with a note on what passed and what did not, so your acceptance rate climbs fast. Most tradespeople are above 80 percent by their third upload.

check 1
It shows the trade
Your hands, your tools, and the work in front of you, from your own eye line. Driving, estimates, and paperwork are not training data and do not count.
check 2
A reviewer can follow it
In focus, enough light to see what is happening, and the mount angled the way we set up with you on the call. A headlamp fixes most attic and crawl-space problems.
check 3
The consent form matches
A signed form from the customer, employer, or site for that job. No form, no pay, no exceptions.
check 4
It is new footage
A job is paid one time. Sending the same clip twice, or recording the same two-minute task on a loop, does not pass.

Skilled trades AI training jobs, answered.

How much do AI training jobs for skilled trades pay?

The trades program pays $20 for each hour of footage a reviewer accepts, and it stacks on top of whatever the job itself pays you. The number to plan around is accepted hours, not hours on site: drive time, breaks, and invoicing never get recorded, and reviewers in this program send back roughly 15 to 30 percent of uploads. A tradesperson who records ten hours in a week and has eight accepted earns $160 that week. Thirty recorded hours at the same rate is around $480. There is no ceiling and no minimum.

Do I have to ask my customers before recording?

Yes, every time, and we make it painless. You carry a one-page consent form and a plain-language explanation that we write for you. The camera faces the pipe, the panel, or the subfloor, not the family in the kitchen, and most customers agree once that is clear. If someone declines, that job is simply not recorded and you move on. On commercial sites the property manager or general contractor signs instead. Footage recorded without a signed form is not accepted and not paid.

Is this a job or an hourly wage?

Neither. You keep your business, your employer, your rate, and your customers exactly as they are today. eeko pays you separately, per accepted hour, for the recordings. Nobody schedules you, there is no quota, and nothing you choose not to record counts against you. Think of it as a licence fee for footage of your craft, paid by the hour it runs, rather than employment.

What camera do I need for trade work?

Your own phone or an action camera on a chest mount or a hard-hat mount, so both hands stay free. We do not ship equipment, but we tell you on the onboarding call whether what you own will do and how to position it for crawl spaces, attics, and panel work. Dust, sweat, and bad light are normal in this program and reviewers know it; the footage only has to be sharp enough to follow what your hands are doing.

What happens if my first upload is rejected?

You still get paid for it. The first hour you record after onboarding is paid at the full $20 even if it fails review, provided it is a real attempt at your normal work. A reviewer then writes back with the specific fix, which for tradespeople is nearly always mount angle, a lens pointed at the ceiling, or forgetting to pause during a customer conversation. From the second upload onward, pay follows what is accepted.

Which trades and locations are you accepting right now?

Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and floor cleaning, carpentry and framing, painting and drywall, roofing, flooring and tile, appliance repair, masonry and concrete, and welding and fabrication, anywhere in the United States. Locksmiths, glaziers, insulation crews, and other hands-on trades should apply too; we add trades as AI teams ask for them and will say plainly if we cannot place yours yet. Mechanics, factory workers, and farm crews have programs of their own.

Who ends up with the footage, and what do they do with it?

Robotics and AI organizations that eeko has vetted and signed a written licence with. They use it to train and test systems that need to understand how an experienced tradesperson diagnoses a problem, chooses a tool, and judges when the work is finished. Before anything leaves our systems, faces, house numbers, mail, and screens are blurred, and each clip carries its consent record and a signed provenance record. It is never posted publicly or resold on an open marketplace.

Run a crew? Sign up the whole truck.

Contractors join as a company: one agreement covers consent for every tech, every accepted hour goes to the tech who recorded it, and your office never has to chase a form. Mention your crew size in the form, or email us and a person will reply within one business day.
