License your work for AI training. Your terms, your price, your proof.

Photographers, writers, musicians, 3D artists, and filmmakers can license their work for AI training through eeko instead of having it taken for free. Each item you list carries one clear permission, a price you set, and a signed record that proves what you made and when. Ownership never leaves your hands. When an AI team licenses it, you are paid.

What is licensing your work for AI training?

Licensing your work for AI training is the act of granting an AI team permission to train or evaluate a model on specific files you created, for a named purpose and a fixed term, in exchange for a fee. It is the same mechanism a stock library or a music publisher has used for decades, pointed at a new kind of buyer. The work stays yours. The buyer gets a scoped right, written down, with an end date.

The reason this matters now is simple. The models eeko builds for regulated enterprises, and the models the large labs train, have already consumed most of what sits on the open web. What is left, and what is actually scarce, is human-made work with a clean chain of title: the photographer who shot ten thousand frames of industrial interiors, the composer with a drive of unreleased stems, the studio with a library of rigged characters. AI teams will pay for that, provided someone can prove it was made by a person and that the person agreed.

That proof is what eeko's data practice adds. Every item you list through the eeko AI training data practice is fingerprinted, screened for human origin, tied to your consent and your terms, and issued a signed record with an independent timestamp. Buyers see a catalogue of verified work. You see a ledger of what was licensed, to whom, and for how much. It is the same verification we apply to the verified human data we deliver to our own enterprise clients.

Catalogue image · 2100 × 900
Every item in the eeko creator catalogue shows its permission, its price, and the record behind it. Buyers browse what is licensed; nothing reserved is visible to them.

Three AI training permissions, and you choose per item.

Each file you list gets exactly one setting. The setting is written into its signed record, published in its metadata, and honored by every buyer in the catalogue. You can change it later, and a new record is issued when you do.

01 / reservedDEFAULT
Reserved: not available for training
The starting position for every item. The work is on record as yours, its reservation is declared in the file's metadata and in the machine-readable signals crawlers are expected to read, and no buyer can see or license it.
  • Proof of authorship without any offer to sell
  • Reservation signal in metadata and headers
  • Switch to licensed at any time
02 / licensedPAID
Licensed: available at your price
The item enters the buyer catalogue at the fee you name, per item or per collection. AI teams license it for a defined use and term. Non-exclusive terms let the same item be licensed repeatedly; exclusive terms pay more and keep other buyers off the item while they run.
  • Per-item or per-collection pricing
  • Non-exclusive, exclusive, or evaluation-only
  • Decline any buyer, for any reason
03 / openFREE
Open: free to train on, with attribution
For work you are happy to let models train on without charging. The grant is still logged, signed, and tied to your name, so an open item is attributable and the terms of the open grant are enforceable.
  • Attribution preserved in the record
  • Terms of the grant stated plainly
  • Revocable for future use, not past licences

A signed record that travels with the file.

A listing is not a ruling on who owns what. It is independent, timestamped proof of authorship, of the date you declared it, and of the terms you chose, plus the paperwork to act when those terms are ignored.

Provenance record image · 1200 × 900
One record per item: what it is, who made it, when it was declared, who may use it, and how.

What eeko attaches to every licensed item

  • Fingerprint — an exact cryptographic hash and a perceptual fingerprint, so a copy, a crop, or a re-encode can still be matched back to the original.
  • Signed provenance — a record signed by eeko that names the work, the creator, the permission, and the price, re-issued whenever any of them change.
  • Independent timestamp — anchored outside our own systems, so nobody, including us, can backdate a declaration.
  • Human-origin checks — generator signatures, C2PA and IPTC fields, and a review by a person, so buyers know the work was made by you and not by a model.
  • Consent and releases — model and property releases attached per item wherever a person or a private place appears.
  • Licence terms — use, term, exclusivity, and restrictions, written in plain language and recorded against the item.
  • Hash-chained audit trail — every view, licence, and change logged in sequence so the history cannot be quietly edited.
  • Signed delivery receipt — when a buyer takes delivery, a receipt lists every item by fingerprint, so both sides know exactly what changed hands.

Buyers get the same record. That is why they pay: a licensed item from the eeko catalogue can be shown to a regulator, an auditor, or a court with its full history intact.

Creators who already hold what AI teams are missing.

If a person made it, you hold the rights, and nobody has published it at scale, there is probably a buyer. These are the catalogues we are asked for most.

photo
Photographers and illustrators
Raw and edited stills, series with consistent subjects or conditions, reference sets, sketches, and finished illustration. Specialist subjects such as medical, industrial, aerial, or scientific photography are in particular demand.
text
Writers and editors
Fiction, essays, journalism, technical writing, screenplays, edited drafts with revision history, and translated pairs. Work with a clear author and no third-party quotations licenses fastest.
audio
Musicians, composers, and voice artists
Masters and stems, session recordings, sound libraries, spoken-word and narration, and field recordings. Multitrack sessions with instrument labels are worth more than a mixed stereo file.
3d
3D artists and CAD designers
Rigged characters, props, environments, scans, textures, animations, and engineering models with assemblies. See our 3D and CAD datasets page for the formats buyers ask for.
video
Filmmakers and videographers
Footage, documentary rushes, b-roll, multi-camera sessions, and released short-form work. Footage with people requires releases; footage of places, machines, and process is immediately listable.
archiveSTUDIOS
Studios, labels, and archives
Catalogues held by a company rather than an individual, where the rights picture is larger and licensing happens per collection. Our AI data licensing team handles rights review and buyer matching at that scale.

From a folder on your drive to a paid licence.

Nothing is uploaded, published, or offered to anyone until you have seen the terms. A person on the eeko data team reads every listing.

STEP 01
Describe the work
Fill in the listing form: what you make and roughly how much exists, whose rights they are, and whether anyone recognizable appears. A link to samples helps; a full upload is not needed yet.
STEP 02
We review it
Someone comes back inside one business day with an honest read on demand, any releases or cleanup the work needs, and where your price would sit against what buyers are paying now.
STEP 03
Set your terms
Price, kind of licence, exclusivity, and any restrictions are yours to decide. Items are fingerprinted, checked, and issued their signed record. You approve the listing before it goes live.
STEP 04
Paid per licence
When an AI team licenses your work, the use is logged, a delivery receipt is signed, and you are paid according to the terms you approved, with an itemized statement of what was licensed and to whom.

Scraped for free, or licensed on record.

without a listing
Your work is on the web and in the training set

A crawler took it years ago. There is no record of your terms, no fee, no way to prove the file was yours before it appeared in a model's output, and no one to send the invoice to.

  • Unpaid No licence, no fee, no statement
  • Unproven No timestamped evidence of authorship
  • Unattributed Your name is nowhere in the pipeline
  • Unenforceable Nothing to point to when terms are ignored
listed with eeko
Your work is licensed, logged, and paid for

Each item has a fingerprint, a signed record, a declared permission, and a price. Buyers who want verified, consented data license it from the catalogue and sign for delivery. You hold the proof and the earnings statement.

  • Paid A fee per licence, on terms you set
  • Proven Independent timestamp and hash on every item
  • Attributed Your name in the record buyers receive
  • Enforceable Evidence ready for takedowns and claims

Licensing your work for AI: creator questions.

What does it mean to license your work for AI training?

Licensing your work for AI training means granting an AI team permission to use specific files you made, for a named purpose such as training or evaluating a model, for a set period, in exchange for a fee. Ownership stays with you. The licence is a contract that spells out the use, the term, whether it is exclusive, and what the buyer may not do. At eeko every licensed item also carries a signed provenance record, so the permission is attached to the file rather than buried in an email thread.

How much can a creator earn licensing work for AI training?

It depends on what you make, how much of it exists, and how scarce it is. A set of a few thousand well-shot photographs in a niche subject, hours of multitrack recordings, or a catalogue of rigged 3D assets can each command a meaningful fee because AI teams cannot generate them and cannot legally scrape them. You set the per-item or per-collection price. Our data team tells you honestly where that price sits against current demand before anything is listed, and non-exclusive terms let you license the same work repeatedly.

Do I give up copyright or ownership of my work?

No. You keep every right you hold today. A licence is permission for a defined use, not a transfer. Buyers receive the right to train or evaluate a model on the licensed items for the agreed term; they do not receive the right to resell your files, publish them, or claim them as their own. If the licence is non-exclusive you can license the same work again, sell prints, publish it, or take it down from our catalogue whenever you wish.

What if my photos or footage show recognizable people?

We only offer work containing recognizable people once an AI-use release exists for each of them. Releases for models and property can be attached item by item during listing. If some of your work has releases and some does not, tell us; we will list the covered items and help you collect releases for the rest where it is practical, or leave those items reserved.

Can I change my mind after I set a permission?

Yes. The AI training setting on any item can be changed at any time, and a fresh signed record is issued with the new terms and a new timestamp. The one thing a change cannot do is cancel a licence a buyer has already paid for; that licence runs to the end of its agreed term and then expires. Nothing is ever sold without your prior approval of the price and the terms.

Does registering my work stop AI companies from scraping it?

No technical measure can physically stop a crawler that chooses to ignore the rules, and we will not pretend otherwise. What the record does is state your terms in every place a responsible system looks, including embedded metadata and machine-readable reservation signals, and give you a timestamped, fingerprinted proof of what you made and on what terms. That proof is what makes a takedown, a licence claim, or a legal complaint credible.

Get paid when a model learns from your work.

Tell us what you make and roughly how much of it exists. A person on the eeko data team replies inside one business day with an honest read on demand and the next step for your kind of work. No upload, no obligation, nothing published until you say so.
