A micro1 alternative for AI training experts. Show us your rate. We try to beat it.

If you are a physician, lawyer, engineer, scientist, software engineer, or linguist doing AI training work through micro1 or a similar expert marketplace, send eeko the rate you have. Inside one business day a real person comes back with a higher rate, in writing, for a named project, or tells you honestly that we cannot beat it. No AI interview, no unpaid trial, no exclusivity.

What this micro1 alternative is, and is not

micro1 is a human-data and AI-recruiting business that places vetted domain experts with AI labs for training and evaluation work, usually mentioned in the same breath as Scale AI, Mercor, and Surge. eeko systems is not affiliated with it, and this page makes no claims about its terms. What this page describes is our own offer to the experts who work, or are thinking of working, through platforms like it.

eeko builds production AI systems for regulated enterprises. The models those systems run on need data nobody has published, so we run a private data practice: AI teams commission custom, verified datasets, and credentialed specialists are paid to write, label, grade, and review that data in their own field. Because we sell proof and depth rather than volume, we can pay for judgment at a rate that reflects it, and we would rather show you that number than describe it.

So the offer is simple. Send the pay you currently receive, the discipline you work in, and the weekly hours you have available. Someone on the data team reads it, compares it with projects that are open or about to open, and answers inside one business day. Where we can top it for a named project, the higher rate is put in writing before you take on anything. If we cannot, we say so and waste none of your time. Either way your credentials and your current offer stay private.

Written offer image · 2100 × 900
What a better offer looks like: the task, the hourly rate, the expected hours, and the deadline, all in writing before you decide.

Four steps from your current rate to a better one.

You show us what you are offered. We show you what we would pay. Nothing is accepted on your behalf and nothing is unpaid.

STEP 01
Send your rate
Your field, the hourly or per-task pay you have now, and an idea of the weekly hours you could give. Use the form below; a forwarded email or screenshot to the data team works too.
STEP 02
We check the fit
A person matches your field against open and upcoming projects and verifies your credentials privately. No automated screen, no scoring bot.
STEP 03
You get the offer
A rate in writing for a named project, with the task, the guidelines, the hours, and the deadline laid out. Or an honest no. You decide.
STEP 04
You get paid
Work that passes second-expert review goes onto your balance and is released on the published schedule, every task itemized on your statement.

Structure, not generosity.

We are not paying more to be nice. We can pay more because the way the practice is built leaves more of the buyer's money for the person who did the work.

01 / no crowdCORE
No pool to carry
We do not onboard thousands of people to staff a single project. Each request goes to a handful of verified specialists. Less recruiting waste, less idle capacity, and the difference goes into the hourly rate.
  • Small matched groups per request
  • Lower overhead per approved hour
02 / proofPREMIUM
Buyers pay for provenance
Every item we deliver carries a signed provenance record, consent, and a second-expert review. AI teams pay a premium for data they can defend, and that premium reaches the people who made it. See how every item is verified.
  • Fingerprint, signature, timestamp per item
  • Hash-chained audit trail
03 / specialistCORE
Specialist work, specialist pay
A radiologist labeling scans is paid as a radiologist. A deal lawyer grading contract analysis is paid as a deal lawyer. Nothing on our board pays under $40 an hour, and licensed and research-level work runs far above it.
  • Rates set by field and difficulty
  • Hourly ranges published on every listing
04 / writtenCORE
Agreed per project, in writing
The rate on the project brief is the rate approved hours pay. If a buyer changes scope, the project is reissued and you decide again. There is no quiet repricing once you are inside, and rates rise with difficulty and track record.
  • Task, rate, hours, deadline before acceptance
  • Rejections explained; disputes to a domain lead

A large marketplace versus a private network.

The left-hand card is a general picture of how big expert marketplaces tend to run, as the people who work on them describe it. It is a general picture, not a statement about any one company; read any platform's current terms for yourself.

a typical large marketplace
Scale first, rate set by the platform

You clear an automated screen, join a large pool, and take the rate attached to each project. Work fills quickly and dries up quickly. Quality control is automated, and you rarely know who the buyer is or what license the data ships under.

  • Rate Set per project, take it or leave it
  • Entry Automated interviews and screening
  • Competition A large open pool
  • Payout On the platform's cycle
the eeko expert network
Small groups, rate agreed with you

We try to top the number you show us and put it in writing before you commit to anything. A person verifies your credentials and any assessment is paid. Each request goes to a few matched specialists, a second expert reviews every task, and the data ships to a named buyer under a stated license with provenance on every item.

  • Rate Your offer beaten in writing, or an honest no
  • Entry Private credential check, paid calibration
  • Competition A handful of verified peers per request
  • Payout Approved work itemized and released on schedule

Show us the offer. We reply within one business day.

Tell us the pay you have now, per hour or per task, the platform it comes from, your field, and the hours you could give. Your current offer and your credentials stay between you and the eeko data team.

Send the scope you need and the quote in hand. A proposal that beats it on price, quality bar, or both comes back within one business day.

What an AI team gets instead

  • Verified makers — every item produced by a credential-checked specialist and reviewed by a second one.
  • Provenance on every item — cryptographic fingerprint, signed record, independent timestamp, consent and license captured per item.
  • Human-origin checks — generator signatures and C2PA and IPTC fields detected and recorded, so synthetic material does not slip in.
  • Your formats — JSON Lines, CSV, Parquet, WebDataset, COCO, and Croissant metadata, with a signed delivery receipt listing every item.
  • Pilot first — a small batch before volume, fixed scope and fixed price on the full run.

Use the dataset request form so it reaches a data lead, or read about expert data annotation services and evaluation benchmarks first.

Medicine, law, finance, science, engineering, software, languages, robotics, design, and the trades. If yours is missing, send the rate anyway.

micro1 alternative, asked often.

What is micro1?

micro1 is a human-data and AI-recruiting business that places vetted domain experts with AI labs for model training and evaluation work. It is generally discussed alongside other expert marketplaces such as Scale AI, Mercor, and Surge. eeko systems has no affiliation with micro1, and nothing on this page describes micro1's current terms; it describes what eeko offers to experts who are doing, or weighing, that kind of work. Check any platform's own terms directly before comparing.

Is eeko a micro1 alternative?

For the expert side of the market, yes. eeko systems builds production AI for regulated enterprises and runs a private data practice to feed it: AI teams commission custom, verified datasets, and credentialed specialists are paid to write, label, and grade that data within their own discipline. If you are a physician, lawyer, engineer, scientist, software engineer, or linguist earning through an expert marketplace, we will look at your current rate and try to beat it for specific work.

How much more does eeko pay than micro1?

There is no single multiplier, because rates in the eeko network depend on the field and the task, and we do not publish or speculate about any other platform's pay. What we commit to is concrete: show us the pay or the offer you currently hold, and within one business day a person comes back with a higher rate, in writing, for a named project, or tells you plainly that we cannot beat it. Our open listings publish their hourly ranges so you can compare before you send anything.

Do I have to stop working with micro1 to join eeko?

No. The eeko expert network has no exclusivity clause and sets no minimum hours. Most of the specialists we work with take projects from more than one source alongside a practice, a job, or research. You can accept an eeko project this month and nothing next month. Your obligations are to the projects you accept: the deadline, the guidelines, and the quality bar. Whatever else you do with your time is your business.

Is there an AI interview or a proctored test at eeko?

No. We do not use recorded video interviews, automated interviewers, or timed proctored exams to screen experts. A member of the data team reads your submission, checks your identity and credentials in private, and, if a project calls for it, sets a short calibration task in your own specialty that is paid at the project rate. If the calibration does not meet the bar, you hear why in writing. Nothing you do for us before a project is unpaid.

Which fields does the rate match cover?

Medicine and health, law, finance, accounting, and tax, mathematics and the physical and life sciences, engineering, software and machine learning, languages and translation, robotics and teleoperation, architecture, music, and the skilled trades. These are the fields where AI teams send us requests most often, and the sixteen specialties we recruit hardest are listed on our experts by field directory. If yours is not there, send the rate anyway: fields open as demand arrives.

I buy expert data from micro1. Does the offer apply to buyers?

Yes, with the same shape. Send us the scope you need and the quote in hand; a data lead answers inside one business day, bringing a proposal that undercuts it on price, raises the quality bar, or does both. Every item we deliver is made by a verified, credentialed expert, reviewed by a second one, and shipped with consent and a signed provenance record attached. Use the dataset request form rather than the expert form so it reaches the right person.

Your current rate is a floor. Let us try to raise it.

Send the number, the field, and the hours. A person replies within one business day with a better rate in writing for a named project, or a straight no. No deck. No interview bot. No exclusivity.
