Mathematics training data for AI. New problems, no shortcuts.

Original problems, rigorous proofs, Lean formalizations, and step-by-step grades written by research mathematicians, PhD students, faculty, and olympiad coaches, each solved independently by a second mathematician before delivery. For teams measuring reasoning instead of recall, and for mathematicians who want paid, remote work that rewards what they trained for.

What is mathematics training data for AI?

Mathematics training data for AI is a set of problems, solutions, proofs, and grades built so a reasoning model can learn from them or be measured against them: a problem with one clean answer and a complete solution; a proof written to the standard of a referee; a model's own attempt marked step by step, with the first unjustified move named; a theorem and its proof stated formally in Lean. What makes it worth paying for is that it is new, correct, and checked by someone other than its author.

Reasoning models now get to the right answer by the wrong road with alarming fluency: a case skipped, a lemma assumed, an argument that quietly uses what it is trying to prove. Final-answer checking cannot see any of that. Meanwhile the competition archives and textbook exercises are in every training corpus, so a high score on them tells you about memory, not reasoning.

eeko evaluates the reasoning inside the agents and decision systems we ship, and we needed test material those models could not have seen. So we commission it: verified mathematicians write each problem to your specification, a second mathematician solves it blind, and the delivery carries the per-item record described on verified human data, including an independent timestamp, the standard across the whole eeko data practice.

A second mathematician works the problem without seeing the first solution. If the two disagree, the problem goes back, not forward.

Three reasons math benchmarks mislead, and how the data avoids them.

A score is only as good as the problems behind it. These are the three ways a problem set quietly stops measuring anything.

The model has seen it before

Anything published is eventually in a corpus. New problems, fingerprinted at intake and anchored with an independent timestamp, give you a result you can defend when someone asks whether the test leaked.

Right answer, broken argument

A boxed answer hides a skipped case or a circular step. Mathematicians grade every step of a solution and name the first one that does not follow, which is the signal a reasoning model actually needs.

Two defensible answers

An ambiguous problem is a bad label however carefully it is graded. The independent second solve catches wording that admits more than one reading before the problem ever reaches you.

Math reasoning datasets and proof checking, field by field.

The six requests we fill most often, scoped by field, level, and volume, and opened with a pilot batch.

01 / problemsCORE
Original problems with solutions
Advanced undergraduate through research-level problems with a single verified answer and a complete worked solution, tagged by field and difficulty and never adapted from published material.
  • Algebra, analysis, number theory, combinatorics, and more
  • Difficulty confirmed by the second solver
  • LaTeX source with every item
02 / proofsCORE
Proof writing and checking
Rigorous proofs written to a referee's standard, and model-written proofs read line by line for gaps, unjustified steps, and errors, with the first failure located.
  • Human and model proofs
  • First-gap index on every check
  • Written verdict and correction
03 / gradingCORE
Step-level reasoning grades
Every step of a model's solution labeled correct, incorrect, or unsupported against a rubric agreed in the pilot, ready for fine-tuning or process-reward training.
  • Per-step labels with explanations
  • Reviewer agreement reported per batch
  • Rubric versioned with the dataset
04 / formalCORE
Formal mathematics
Statements and proofs in Lean or another proof assistant, written or checked by mathematicians who work in the tool daily, and reviewed for fidelity to the informal theorem.
  • Tool-checked and expert-reviewed
  • Informal and formal versions paired
  • Source files delivered
05 / held-outEVAL
Held-out evaluation sets
Private benchmarks of new problems, fingerprinted, timestamped, and delivered to you alone, built so a score reflects reasoning rather than recall. See AI evaluation benchmarks.
  • Independent timestamp per set
  • Exclusive by default
  • Refreshed on a standing order
06 / preferencesCORE
Preference judgments
Pairs of model solutions compared on correctness, rigor, and clarity, with a written rationale from a mathematician, for preference and reward-model training.
  • Criteria weighted to your spec
  • Rationale on every pair
  • Ties and ambiguity recorded, not forced

From brief to signed delivery, in four steps.

Settle the field, level, and rubric on a small batch, then run volume without re-arguing it.

STEP 01
Spec and pilot
You tell us the fields, the level, and whether the set is for training or for a held-out test. We return a written spec, a rubric, and a fixed pilot price inside one business day.
STEP 02
Written by a verified mathematician
A mathematician whose identity and credentials we have checked poses the problem and writes the full solution, in a field they are verified in.
STEP 03
Solved blind by a second
A second mathematician works the problem from the statement alone. Agreement confirms the answer and the wording; disagreement sends the problem back with a reason.
STEP 04
Fingerprinted, timestamped, delivered
Accepted problems are hashed, checked for near-duplicates, anchored with an independent timestamp, and listed on a signed receipt with the licence.

Who is on the eeko mathematics network

  • Research mathematicians and faculty — original problems and referee-grade proofs in their own field.
  • PhD students — graduate-level problem writing and step-by-step grading.
  • Olympiad coaches — competition-style problems with a single clean answer and no published twin.
  • Statisticians and formal methods specialists — probability, statistics, and Lean formalization.

Delivered as problem sets, proofs, worked solutions, step grades, Lean sources, and LaTeX, as JSON Lines, Parquet, or Croissant.

Paid AI training work for mathematicians, between research and teaching.

Remote work that is, for once, exactly what you trained for: pose a problem with one clean answer, write the solution properly, and find the gap in someone else's argument. The rate is on the job before you accept.

Mathematicians we verify and onboard

Identity and credentials are confirmed once at onboarding, sometimes with one paid assessment problem. After that you only see jobs your verified profile meets.

  • Doctoral A mathematics PhD, or doctoral study well along
  • Master's With substantial research or teaching behind it
  • Competition Olympiad medals, Putnam results, or coaching record
  • Field Publications or teaching in algebra, analysis, combinatorics, topology, or similar
  • Tooling Fluent LaTeX; Lean or a similar proof assistant for formalization jobs

What a job on eeko looks like

Each job carries scope, deadline, and rate. When the second mathematician confirms your item, the amount is credited and Stripe pays it out automatically once your identity and tax information are on file.

  • Pose Original problems with one verifiable answer and a full solution
  • Check Human or model proofs line by line, naming the first gap
  • Grade Each step of a model's solution against a rubric, with reasons
  • Re-solve Another mathematician's problem blind, to confirm answer and wording

No minimum hours and no published byline. Many on the network write in concentrated sittings a few times a month. How rates and review work across the program is on expert data annotation jobs.

Mathematics training data questions.

How does eeko keep a held-out math benchmark from leaking?

Four ways, all on the record. Problems are written new for your request rather than adapted from anything published. Each is fingerprinted at intake and screened against the rest of the dataset for duplicates and near-duplicates. An exclusive set is delivered to you alone and never offered elsewhere. And every set carries an independent timestamp, so if a result is later challenged you can prove the problems existed, in that form, before the model that scored on them was trained.

What level of mathematics does the data cover?

Advanced undergraduate up to graduate and research level, spanning analysis, algebra, number theory, geometry, combinatorics, topology, probability, and statistics, with competition-style material available where a request calls for it. Each request is routed to mathematicians we have verified in that field, and each problem is solved from scratch by a second mathematician before it is accepted, so the stated difficulty and the single intended answer are both confirmed by someone other than the author.

Do I need a PhD to join as a mathematics expert?

Not necessarily. A PhD or doctoral study in progress qualifies you for most of the work, but a strong competition record, or a master's degree with real research or teaching experience, qualifies you for plenty of it. We verify identity and credentials at onboarding and may ask you to work one paid assessment problem in your field. After that, every job you see is one your verified profile already meets.

How much does a custom math reasoning dataset cost?

Per accepted item, priced by level, field, and the depth of review. An undergraduate problem with a worked solution sits at one end; a research-level problem, independently solved twice, formalized in Lean, and timestamped sits at the other. After a short brief we quote a fixed price for a pilot batch, and the volume order is quoted the same way once you have seen the standard. A data lead replies inside one business day.

How much time do mathematicians need to commit?

None in advance. Jobs appear when they fit your verified field, each showing its scope, deadline, and rate before you accept, and you take the ones that fit. Most mathematicians on the network write problems in concentrated sittings between research and teaching rather than on a schedule. The work is fully remote, your name is not published with the data, and approved items are paid out automatically through Stripe.

Can eeko commission formal proofs in Lean?

Yes, for requests we can match to mathematicians who work in the proof assistant day to day. Each formal statement and proof is checked by the tool and then reviewed by a second mathematician for fidelity to the informal statement, because a proof that type-checks can still prove the wrong theorem. Deliveries include the source files alongside JSON Lines, Parquet, or Croissant metadata, with a signed receipt listing every item.

Problems your model has never seen.

Tell us the fields, the level, and whether the set is for training or for a test nobody else gets. A data lead replies inside one business day with a written spec and a fixed pilot price. Mathematicians: the application takes ten minutes.
